They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but Luke Howlett has taught me just how many things articulate meaning. A look, a giggle, a hug, a smirk… when a person does not have words… all these things speak volumes. One begins to observe more closely, and to realize that often times there is more meaning in silence than in moments crammed with words. One’s awareness becomes more acute, and intuition becomes a real tool for understanding. Communication is far more organic, and therefore, less riddled with preconception and ego. The delight I feel when Luke breezes into a room waving hello with his “air-castinettes” is immeasurable. Reminding me each and every time how the simplest gesture really can be the purest form of expression.
